Clutch Masters designs and manufacturers a wide variety of performance clutch kits specifically designed for your Toyota MR2. From mild street use to dedicated racing, Clutch Masters has your needs covered!

Clutch Masters FX100 Clutch Kit Information:
  • Designed mainly for street use, or occasional track use.
  • 70% increased holding capacity.
  • Good wear characteristics (better than OEM).
  • Heavy-duty pressure plate with a custom heavy-duty steel back organic friction disc.
  • Includes a spring (sprung) disc unless otherwise noted. Generally spring discs result in smoother clutch engagement, while rigid discs engage faster (but a bit harsher). For applications with a dual mass flywheel, generally rigid discs are preferred.
  • Slightly increased pedal pressure.
Clutch Masters FX200 Clutch Kit Information:
  • Designed for street or track use.
  • 70% increased holding capacity.
  • Great wear characteristics (much better than OEM).
  • Heavy-duty pressure plate with a custom heavy-duty steel back Kevlar friction disc.
  • Includes a spring (sprung) disc unless otherwise noted. Generally spring discs result in smoother clutch engagement, while rigid discs engage faster (but a bit harsher). For applications with a dual mass flywheel, generally rigid discs are preferred.
  • Slightly increased pedal pressure, but VERY smooth operation due to Kevlar disc.
  • Must be broken in for 500 miles.
Clutch Masters FX250 Clutch Kit Information:
  • Designed for street or track use. Can handle abuse.
  • 110% increased holding capacity.
  • Uses a sprung disc, unless otherwise notated.

  • Power Plus 1 pressure plate with special friction disc utilizing New Formula Button material on one side and a heavy-duty steel back organic friction lining on the other.
  • Includes a spring (sprung) disc unless otherwise noted. Generally spring discs result in smoother clutch engagement, while rigid discs engage faster (but a bit harsher). For applications with a dual mass flywheel, generally rigid discs are preferred.
  • Increased pedal pressure, still street friendly.
Clutch Masters FX300 Clutch Kit Information:

  • Includes a spring (sprung) disc unless otherwise noted. Generally spring discs result in smoother clutch engagement, while rigid discs engage faster (but a bit harsher). For applications with a dual mass flywheel, generally rigid discs are preferred.
  • Only slightly increased pedal pressure.
  • Must be broken in for 500 miles.
Clutch Masters FX350 Clutch Kit Information:

  • Uses a sprung disc, unless otherwise notated.
  • Good wear characteristics (better than OEM).

  • Includes a spring (sprung) disc unless otherwise noted. Generally spring discs result in smoother clutch engagement, while rigid discs engage faster (but a bit harsher). For applications with a dual mass flywheel, generally rigid discs are preferred.
  • Increased pedal pressure, but still driveable on the street.
Clutch Masters FX400 Clutch Kit Information:
  • Designed for track use, but could possibly still be used on the street. Can handle very high abuse and dedicated race events.
  • 170% increased holding capacity.
  • Designed for maximum holding capacity and not clutch life (might not last as long as an OEM clutch).
  • Power Plus 1 pressure plate with an extremely durable ceramic disc. Ceramic disc rapidly dissipates heat and has very quick engagement. Disc may chatter slightly in first and reverse gears.
  • Increased pedal pressure. Might not be easy to drive on the street for some.
  • We sell the 6 pad rigid, 6 pad spring, full face rigid, and full face spring disc versions of this clutch. The 6 pad option provides the best overall performance and quickest engagement. The 6 pad spring disc version will offer less harsh (but slower) engagements out of the two 6 pad options. The full face disc allows for easier (but slightly slower) engagements compared to the 6 pad, but you can still "slam" the clutch and get pretty fast/harsh engagements due to it not using springs. The full face spring disc has the smoothest but slowest engagement compared to the other FX400 options.
Clutch Masters FX500 Clutch Kit Information:
  • Designed specifically for track use. Engages and disengages instantly for extremely fast gear changes.
  • 200% increased holding capacity.
  • Designed for maximum holding capacity and not clutch life (might not last as long as an OEM clutch).
  • Uses a heavy duty pressure plate with an extremely durable ceramic disc. Ceramic disc rapidly dissipates heat and has extremely quick engagement. Disc may chatter slightly in first and reverse gears.
  • Highly increased pedal pressure. Not recommended for street use.
  • We sell only the 6 pad disc version of this clutch since this will provide the best possible performance and fastest engagement for racing.
Bearing and Alignment Tool Information:
  • Pilot bearing/bushing included with many kits (please call or email us if you want details for your specific application).
  • Release bearing/throw out bearing included with many kits (please call or email us if you want details for your specific application).
  • Alignment tool included for most kits (please call or email us if you want details for your specific application).

Break-in Notes: Please refer to the manufacturer's specific instructions for proper break in details for your application.

Flywheel Notes: A smooth, flat flywheel surface is essential for proper clutch operation. If upon inspection of your Toyota MR2's flywheel there are signs of scoring, heat damage or warpage, the flywheel should be resurfaced or replaced to assure good clutch performance. IF YOUR FLYWHEEL SHOWS ANY SIGNS OF CRACKING, REPLACE IT! If you unsure about the condition of your flywheel, we highly recommend purchasing a new one. Typically, flywheel resurfacing costs around $80 to $100, but it can be hard to find a quality shop to do it. It is usually almost as cost effective just to purchase a new flywheel.
