Traction is very important when off-roading, arguably more so than on the road. However, even with 4WD, it might not be enough to get you out of certain situations. In addition, the lock mechanism has a robust build design that allows it to be actuated at any speed. By using a clutch style pneumatically actuated side gear, it locks the spider gears from moving and creating a strong lock between both wheels. The internal gears are forged, ensuring they can handle the most demanding environments as well. An air locking differential is a must for those doing tough off-road experiences!
