A tune is NOT required to properly use this turbo, but you will get more power if you get a custom tune (any CARB Exemption status would be invalidated by doing that). Also note that it is designed to fit on the stock turbo flange.

When you turn up the boost, you'll often quickly see the limit of your stock turbo. Once you hit this wall, the only way around it is by upgrading your turbo. Luckily, COBB understood this and released their 20G turbo. This turbo is perfect for both street and track use, providing similar low to mid-range response as the stock turbo, but with a huge bump to top-end power! This COBB 20G Turbo Upgrade is capable of producing 400 horsepower while still maintaining excellent throttle response too!

The 20G turbo features an offset compression outlet for more room around the throttle connector and a modified oiling strategy is used to ensure that it can handle increased thrust capacity. This 20G turbo kit includes all the necessary hardware and gaskets for installation, making it a straightforward way of increasing overall performance and getting the most out of your Import.
